D'FUNK PHOTO SHOOT

Today me and my group had to go out and about taking pictures which suit our magazine front cover. Too bad that it was raining today, we suffered as we were out on angel searching for someone to take pictures of, it was difficult finding someone but we found a few who suited us. Most of us got soaked by the rain because of lack of coats, not me by the way i came prepared today.

The rain limited our search time; because most people can't be bothered to be standing in the rain waiting for their pictures to be taken. We had to make some technical choices about the type of camera angles we wanted for example, medium close up we had to use this for when we were shooting people, other angles we used are close up and long shot. Overall we got some amazing picture todays, maybe not the ones most needed those ones are going to be taken at another day by my colleague's. Luckily most of us were in today as it is Eid, but we got some of the work needed done today. So stay tuned for further blogging.

'D' Funk Day Out'

Today in our lesson, we had a photo shoot.
This is where we went out and took pictures for our magazine. We used a digital camera.
As our genre is 'Funky House' we took pictures of people with bright colours and funky things.
We took pictures of our general public who fitted our genre, such as people with bright trainers and quirky clothing.
The reason we took pictures of these people because they would fit our target audience of our magazine.
Today, wasn't a good day to go out, as it was raining and loads of people didn't want to stop in the rain to take pictures.
this caused most of our team to get wet and wanting to go back to base therefore our photo shoot couldn't be completed.
Luckily, most of our group are taking pictures at home, so they can have the affect of the magazine that they would wish to..
The technical decision that we made were a we took a close-up picture of bright trainers this was to emphasise the colour of his bright trainers.
We also took a long shot of the two boys as we like what they had on and there bright trainers stood out.
Our group also took picture of two people in Angel,Islington with cool jumpers which fitted our genre, this image was a medium shot.
We also took pictures of omarr, he had headphones on looking as he was listening to some really good funky music. We took several pictures of him such as close-ups,medium shots and a long shot.
Our group has decided that we our going to alter this picture and change the colour of his outfit to fit in with our magazine.
The final picture we took was of our fellow group member, Ava on a bright orange mo ped that we found outside of a building. This was a long shot as we wanted to get Ava plus the bike.
So all and all this was an ok day. look forward to writing soon xoxo
D' FUNK PHOTO SHOOT

Today in my media lesson we had a photo shoot. For the photo shoot we used a digital camera and took pictures of random funky people. Some of these people were in our college or in our media department. The others being from the streets of london. For our magazine we wanted people who were wearing bright colours or had a funky quirky style. We did this because it would fit best with our target audience and the people we want to buy the magazine.
However, today was not really a good day it rained terribly and most of us got wet so we found it hard to attract peoples attention and find people wearing bright clothes. Overall, this made our photo shoot we really unsuccessful. In my group we were lucky that other members of the team were going to do their own photo shoot and take pictures at home so this didn't affect it everything. The technical decisions that we made were that when we took a picture of a pair of trainers we did a close up shot so you could see the image clearly and know what we are talking about. Another shot we did was we took a picture of two people wearing really cool jumpers for this we took a medium shot so we could see the jumpers. In addition, we also took a picture of a boy called Omar who was crouching down on a blue background. For this type of shot we decided that we wanted  it to be a close up and a medium shot so the audience could see the head phones and his jumper. For a different type of picture my group decided to do a long shot so we can see the whole picture. For a funky shot Ava took a picture on a bright orange mo ped  that we found in the middle of the street. I think by doing this a lot of people are going to be attracted to it and we like the colour.

D'FUNK's day out

Dear diary,

Today my group went out to do our photoshoot for our magazine cover. Although it was raining, we did leave campus and went around angel to take pictures in the style of our funky house magazine. We got a few shoots out and about, but we returned to college and took more pictures in the background. We took a few close ups of funky trainers, and art work. We got a long shot of 2 boys on a brick wall. We got a mid shot of a man and women in funky jumpers, and we took some mid shots of me on an orange motorbike. On the 4th floor we took some pictures Omar wearing large back headphones. We got some mid shots and close-ups of him.
One idea we had was to take pictures of things we could use as backgrounds when we cut people out in photoshop. Our photoshoot was not as successful as we planned as we couldnt get many shots in the rain. However lucky most of us have planned to take photos outside of college therefore we will still overall have enough shots to work with.
Most of our group was hear apart from Yussuf, as it is Eid most of our class were absent.

D'FUNK MAGAZINE

Dear Diary

Today I learnt some new techniques about advertising a magazine, like sell lines which basically tell the reader what's going to be in the magazine. After learning these techniques we got split into groups to go off and produce our own magazine front page.

The people in my group are Annie, Rebecca, Ava & Yussef; we've all decided to call our new magazine D'FUNK. D'FUNK is a newly introduced magazine featuring exclusive funky house music, D'FUNK aims to reintroduce the lost era of funky house into the new economy of this era. The issues of D'FUNK will be released weekly, back after back, priced at £0.79p with a disclosed free exclusive funky house mix CD only with D'FUNK. D'FUNK will be aimed mainly at people aged under 21 to mid teens, mainly because they are the main focus of the funky house, the party generation of our time.

Next week Tuesday is going to be a photo-shoot hopefully by then I would have decided what is going to be in the front of my magazine. See you then.

D' FUNK magazine

Dear diary,

This afternoon in my media lesson we had to plan our magazine. In my group there are five people me , Ava, Annie, Yusef and Efosa. In the group we decided that our magazine is going to be a funky house/ Old school garage/ dance magazine. we named the magazine D' FUNK. We came up with the name because we wanted the name to be catchy and edgy so everyone can remember and be drawn into it. The target audience for our magazine is going to be teenagers mainly under 21s. The price will be 79p each week for all the issues. The slogan for our magazine will be d' funk is back or where did the funk go. By using this readers will know our slogan and when they see it will know what we are talking about.
Every week the magazine is going to have a special offer, for the first week the readers will receive a free mix cd. The cd will feature all the latest and upcoming artists that fit our genre. Each issue will have a different picture and information inside. For my issue i will put a picture of a girl or a boy dressed really funky and retro to fit the genre of my magazine.

D'FUNK mag

Dear diary,
Today in media we picked our groups. In my group, is myself Ava, Rebecca, Annie, Efosa and Yusuf. We decided on a magazine of funky house/old school garage genre called D'FUNK we chose this genre as it is unique and most magazines are based on rock or r n b. Our target audience is under 20's and our slogan is 'The funks back'. We decided on our title color, it will have black outline and then pink fading into black. We will advertise a free mixtape c.d to be given away free with each issue. The price of my magazine is 79p as we want it to be cheap enough for young people to be able to afford each week.
Each 5 issues will have a different photograph and different info inside. Next week for my issue i will photograph a girl dressed in funky clothes and neon colors so she will stand out. I will use her to pose as a new and upcoming funky house artist. These are some things we will base the style of our magazine on :

D'FUNK magazine

Dear Diary,

In My Media Lesson we had to plan a music magazine. I'm in a group with Myself, Antoinette, Rebecca, Ava, Efosa and Yusef. In our group we decided to do a funky house/ Old school garage/ Dance magazine.
We decided between all of our group that we was going to name our magazine 'D'FUNK' as this title will be catchy for our readers to remember .
Our Magazine will have a bold mast heading. It will have a black outline with a pink fade to blue in the centre.
Each member of our group produces one issue per week, so in total we will have five issues.
We have a slogan of 'D'funk back' or the slogan ' Where did d'funk go'. The target audience for our magazine is teenagers and under twenty- ones.
Our magazine is priced at 79p weekly. There is a free mix CD every week with purchase of the magazine.
Each issue will have a different theme and topic on the funky house industry. We chose this because we didn't want the same every week this will want the audience.
For my issue, i am doing a DJ issue. This where i am going to take pictures of a funky house DJ and his set. and on this front cover there will have details of a interview with him with life of being a funky DJ.
